One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone says, "I am so busy, I will do it right now." It's crazy because I was over here twiddling my thumbs and staring at the wall. As a mother, wife, daughter, full-time city employee, author, business owner, and so much more, I rarely say I'm busy. If there is something I have to do, I just do it and move on to something else.
Let's break this down analytically, shall we? When someone claims to be busy, it's often used as an excuse to procrastinate or avoid doing something they don't want to do. It's a convenient way to shift responsibility onto their supposed hectic schedule rather than admitting they simply don't want to do the task at hand. It's a classic case of the "busy" card being played to avoid taking action.
But here's the thing - we all have the same 24 hours in a day. We all have responsibilities and obligations that we need to fulfill. So why is it that some people use being "busy" as a crutch while others just get things done? It all comes down to priorities and time management. If something is important to you, you will find a way to make time for it. If it's not, you'll find an excuse.
As someone who wears multiple hats and juggles numerous roles, I understand the importance of prioritizing and managing my time effectively. I don't have the luxury of using being "busy" as an excuse because I know that I have the power to control how I spend my time. I don't waste precious minutes making excuses or complaining about how overwhelmed I am. I roll up my sleeves and get to work.
So the next time someone tells me they're too busy to do something, I'll just smile and nod, knowing that it's not about being busy - it's about priorities. And if they truly wanted to do it, they would find a way. But hey, who am I to judge? I'll just keep on doing my thing, twiddling my thumbs and staring at the wall, waiting for the "busy" folks to catch up.
