Final Chapter: "Vinyl Moon" Written By Mahogany L. Browne

Updated: Jul 10, 2022

I really thought I was going to enjoy this book to the final chapter, but it threw me a curveball towards the end.

Vinyl Moon was a book that I challenged my younger cousin to read for a class project. My younger self would have indulged heavily, so me being a music and a book lover I was all in! The problem is that the author failed to mold and tackle the situations that she wrote about. Without giving the book away, when I read a book I want details. Not bloody or sick details, but enough for me to visualize what they would like for me to see. Unfortunately, I did not get that.

Then the secret that the main character carried throughout the book ended in a muted room. In other words, there is no way a person's issues can end all in one chapter. I was disappointed with how the writer DID NOT embellish on the resolution. This book did not go the way I expected. Sort of felt like eating a lollipop 🍭 and when you get to the middle it's a DUBB.
