Walking Away From a Car Accident Unscathed: Will Forever be Etched In My Memory

Walking away from a car accident unscathed is often attributed to fate or luck. However, I firmly believe that it is not just a matter of chance, but rather an act of God. This belief was solidified in 2006 when I found myself involved in a horrific accident on my way back from a friend's new home in the Poconos. The events of that day will forever be etched in my memory.

As I embarked on my journey home, the uplifting melody of "We Fall Down, and We Get Up" by Gospel singer Donnie McClurkin filled the car. The music resonated with my soul, and I felt a sense of peace and contentment. Little did I know that this serenity would soon be shattered by a series of unfortunate events.

Driving along Route 80, I glanced in my rearview mirror and noticed a car hurtling towards me, seemingly out of control. Panic surged through my veins as I realized that this vehicle showed no signs of stopping. In a matter of seconds, it collided with my car, causing a chain reaction that involved the car ahead of me and the one in front of them.

The impact was jarring, and I found myself disoriented and terrified. The airbag deployed, cushioning my body and preventing more severe injuries. As I struggled to regain my composure, a 16-wheeler driver, who had witnessed the accident, rushed to my aid with a fire extinguisher. Flames had erupted from the front of my car, threatening to engulf me in a fiery inferno. His quick thinking and selflessness saved me from further harm.

In the midst of the chaos, I couldn't help but notice the pink rosary hanging from my rearview mirror. It had remained intact, untouched by the wreckage surrounding me. It was a symbol of faith, a reminder that I was not alone in this harrowing experience. I clung to it tightly, finding solace in the belief that a higher power was watching over me.

Ironically, in my moment of distress, I instinctively reached out to my father, who lived nearby in New Jersey. Despite his inconsistent presence in my life, I knew that he would be there for me in times of need. As I waited for him to arrive, I reflected on the fragility of life and the newfound perspective this accident had bestowed upon me.

Walking away from that car accident unscathed was not a mere stroke of luck. It was a testament to the divine intervention that protected me that day. It was a reminder that life is fragile and can be taken away in an instant. It taught me to cherish every moment, to appreciate the love and support of those around me, and to never take my safety for granted.

The car accident I experienced in 2006 was a life-altering event that reinforced my belief in the intervention of a higher power. Walking away from such a devastating incident unharmed was not a matter of fate or luck, but rather an act of God. It served as a reminder to embrace each day with gratitude and to trust in the unseen forces that guide and protect us.

Thanks for reading.
